Victory Sports visits 3rd grocery store in a month for latest #ProjectJumpRope giveaway
On Saturday May 30th, Victory Sports once again set-up in front of a Buffalo-area Price Rite Marketplace to give away more jump ropes and activity cards to shoppers and their kids as part of #ProjectJumpRope. Following the visits to Elmwood Avenue and Cheektowaga earlier in May, the team this time visited the Kenmore Avenue store on the border between North Buffalo and Kenmore.
In just over two hours, 120 jump ropes were given away along with activity cards containing different games to play at-home for kids of all ages. Huge thanks to Project Play WNY for providing the cards and for continuing to champion and believe in the work we do. Victory Sports would also like to thank the Ralph C. Wilson Jr Foundation for supporting our efforts and of course Price Rite Marketplace for allowing us to set-up outside their store once again.
As the region begins to slowly reopen following the peak of the pandemic, the reality is that youth sports and organized play are not about to restart. #ProjectJumpRope hopes to continue helping kids stay active and have fun in the absence of the ‘normal’ summer activities we all wish could take place. Parents were delighted to take a goodie bag from us and some of the kids we met were quick to show off their jump rope skills! Plans are being finalized for a return to other grocery stores and we’ll be at several community events over the coming months distributing jump ropes and other sports equipment so keep an eye out for updates on that!
Check out some pictures of the on-site action and our giveaways in the photo gallery below! If you’d like to find out more about #ProjectJumpRope, you can read more about it here, or give online to support our efforts. Just $20 allows us to give jump ropes to 10 kids!
