This month marks our 3rd anniversary!
I set up Victory Sports in August 2017 and it’s been quite a journey. Clearly nothing could prepare us for the challenges of 2020 but with your support and the foundations built over the past 3 years, we’re able to continue our work in the community, reaching thousands of kids with sport and free-play equipment to help them through these difficult months.
I’d like to welcome all the new followers since July’s inaugural newsletter and as always, please get in touch with any comments or questions about anything you read or see below!
In the month since we last spoke, we’ve continued to scale up our activities in the community. We’ve also developed new initiatives that will keep us, and the kids we serve, busy well into the new academic year – whatever that looks like!
Some updates from the last month:
- August is an important milestone for us. Read our anniversary article!
- We’ve given away 1400+ Play Packs and visited 7 of 8 counties on our list
- We have 13 Ball-Bins installed, providing 1100+ items thru September
- We’ve planned the Literacy through Sports campaign! #AthletesRead
- We’re delighted to welcome CTBK and Evans Insurance Agency as new partners
- We’ve booked in dates for a hockey equipment sale on Friday & Saturday THIS WEEK!
Check out the bottom half of the newsletter for more details, pictures, and links or head to our website.
Thank you for taking the time to read our newsletter. We’re grateful for the support you show by following us on social media, donating equipment, and partnering with us.
If you can support us with a monthly or one-time donation, it would be a huge help. We don’t like to continually ask but this month we are hoping to raise some funds via our anniversary campaign. You can click on the buttons below or via this link to contribute. Thank you in advance to anyone who can donate.
I hope to see as many of you as possible again soon. Have a wonderful rest of the summer and we’ll get back in touch in September with updates on our plans for the fall and winter.
Best wishes,
Doug

West Seneca in late June was the first….fast-forward 6 weeks and we have 13 Ball-Bins in place, refilled weekly with the help of our first group of wonderful volunteers – Julie, Debbie & Erika! Read more about the locations, how it works and how your business can adopt a Ball Bin…
August 1st 2017, Victory Sports became a reality and a fully incorporated 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Many don’t survive the first 2 years. We’re delighted to make it to year 4, but we have so much work to do. Have a look at some stats and photos from years 1-3 and learn about our plans going forward…
Corporate partnerships allow us to reach more children. Simple. Thanks to CTBK and Evans Insurance for becoming partners, Stahlka and WSTA for adopting one of our ball-bins, and we’re excited to see the final haul from the Arbeit employee equipment drive – huge thanks to their team!
