Get to know Chiampou Travis Besaw & Kershner (CTBK)
Wednesday October 28th – Buffalo, NY
A new feature for our bi-monthly newsletter will see us spotlight a different partner each time, from the corporate and community sectors and some of our awesome volunteers.
This month, we’re delighted to put the spotlight on Buffalo-based accounting firm Chiampou Travis Besaw and Kershner (CTBK) who joined forces with Victory Sports in July as a Booster-level sponsor. We spoke with Marketing Coordinator, Kaitlyn Affuso, about the partnership and what else their business does in the community and why they find it important to give back. What follows are a few key comments, and you can read the full discussion below that.
- What does your business do? “CTBK is a full-service accounting firm offering tax and attest services, consultation and business valuations, and Outsourced Solutions, including cfoSOLUTIONSPlus…in the Buffalo Niagara region and beyond.”
- Why does your business feel that community partnerships are important? “CTBK’s pillar of Core Values is the human connection. Our firm has an internal committee, Helping Hands, dedicated to giving back to the community year round. One of our specialized niches is the not-for-profit arena. We aim to lend a helping hand whenever and wherever possible.”
- What made you decide to partner with Victory Sports? “Partnering with Victory Sports is a great fit for CTBK due to similar values in focus, such as giving back to the community and making a connection with our Buffalo neighbors. Working with Victory Sports not only got us involved with the community but allowed us to support a start-up NFP organization.”
- Have you found the partnership worthwhile so far? Have you participated in any projects yet? “Partnering with VSGO creates the feeling of inclusion. We’re always happy to help when possible, and truly loved putting together Play Packs back in August.”- See photo above!
- What would you say to an individual or company considering supporting Victory Sports? “I would say it’s not enough to simply “partner” but it’s equally as important to lend that helping hand when needed. With NFP’s and small teams comes the need for extra help. Luckily, helping with VSGO’s projects is not only great for those in need in the community, but it’s a lot of fun for the volunteers, as well!”
- Do you have any other community projects or initiatives you want to tell us about? “CTBK is very active in community service projects year round, but especially during the holiday season, such as a food drive for Thanksgiving through the Salvation Army, Heart Love & Soul’s food packages, collections, toy drives, and more.”
- Anything else you want to tell us about? “CTBK acquired cfoSOLUTIONSPlus in 2020, strengthening the CTBK Outsourced Solutions service line, offering CFO services on a contractual basis to businesses in need.”
Great to talk with Kaitlyn and to have worked with her and the team at CTBK over the last few months and we’re looking forward to more mutually beneficial marketing, volunteering and community initiatives with them. Thank you so much for supporting Victory Sports and the work we do in the community to help kids from disadvantaged and low income communities to play sports and be physically active.
