Corporate Partner Updates
October 29th – Buffalo, NY
The summer is always the busiest time of year for us at Victory Sports. Clearly, this year was like no other, but we were still busy distributing thousands of items of sports and play equipment to kids across WNY during July, August, and September. Our network of 14 Ball-Bins will remain in place until the end of October. We have inevitably seen usage slow in the last week or two as the weather has cooled (and dampened!). We have more Play Packs to distribute in November alongside some exciting new partners (we’ll announce who soon!) and are delighted to be supplying equipment to more and more sports and recreation programs as they open back up.
Whilst our day to day activities tick along, we have been working hard on securing new partners from the local business community. Such relationships are an integral part of sustainability and growth for a young non-profit such as Victory Sports and we are delighted to have had several new sponsors join the family this quarter. The partnership can take the form of financial or in-kind contributions, or resource-based arrangements such as volunteering or corporate equipment drives. We can always present different options for a prospective partner based on their objectives and resources.
There are not many bigger names that GEICO in the world of insurance. You will likely know their Gecko or their GEICOween seasonal campaign through powerful brand messaging and sponsorship of major sporting properties such as the NFL. You can continue to include Victory Sports in that list of sponsored properties, as they renewed their annual sponsorship in September.
Life Storage Inc. are a national self-storage business proudly headquartered in Buffalo with a presence in 31 states. Demonstrating their commitment to their home community, they became an annual sponsor of Victory Sports in October, citing the excellent work we have done in the last few years and wanting to facilitate our growth as reasons they decided to support us. Huge thanks to Jim Kwitchoff and his team at Life Storage, so please check out their website for all your self-storage needs.
In August we ran a really successful equipment drive with Tonawanda-based telecoms start-up, Arbeit. Their young team really bought into the initiative and they engaged clients, recruiters and other external partners to make it a much wider network of contributors. Check out the Kenton-Bee article covering the drive.
Completing the variety of industries that we’ve secured partnerships from, East Aurora-based engineering firm Moog joined us as a Fan-level sponsor, as did Kulback’s – the turnkey construction company based in Lancaster.
Huge thanks to all of those who have supported us! We love the variety of partnerships and types of company we work with. Long may it continue. Check out our Partners page to learn more!
