Victory Sports installs first of many Ball-Bins this summer!

Victory Sports proudly installed our first Ball-Bin of the year this past Friday at the Veterans Park Complex in West Seneca. The Ball-Bins are full of soccer balls, basketballs, footballs, playground balls and jump ropes for kids to play with to make this summer less of a bummer! We will install 20 such bins across WNY over the summer so keep an eye on our website and Facebook for updates on where to find them!
In association with West Seneca Youth & Recreation Department, Victory Sports was in town to hand out 250 Play Packs to town residents and combined the visit with the launch of this summer’s Ball-Bin campaign. With most town recreation and youth sport programs postponed or cancelled, we feel these Ball-Bins are vitally important because they provide kids and families with the equipment they need to play with siblings or small groups of friends. The pandemic has hit families financially so not every child will have access to a soccer ball, basketball etc. Our regularly restocked Ball-Bins help us achieve our mission of providing access to sport for kids from all backgrounds.
In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have switched to a distribution model whereby kids can keep the balls rather than being asked to return them when they’re finished. This adaptation has to be done to keep everyone safe but of course presented a challenge as there didn’t seem much point installing a Ball-Bin and then it becoming redundant once the first batch of equipment had been taken! With the generous support of Project Play WNY & Ralph C. Wilson Jr Foundation along with individual donors to Victory Sports, we have committed to restocking every Ball-Bin every week for at least the next 12 weeks!
The Ball-Bins will be centrally located within each community and will be regularly visited by users and by Victory Sports in our big blue van, attracting lots of attention! We expect to have media coverage across the summer as they are installed and we are inviting local businesses/organizations to ‘Adopt-a-Ball-Bin’.
