Victory Sports joins forces with Community Access Services to giveaway sports equipment in 14215 ZIP code
Updated: Friday July 17th
The giveaway was a great success! Perfect weather and a steady flow of visitors to our site at 3297 Bailey Ave at the Community Access Services (CAS) and Evergreen Health building. Some key figures fro the day:
- Victory Sports is delighted to have handed out 75 jump ropes to passing families, taking the #ProjectJumpRope total to well over 500!
- Community Access Services (CAS) gave away 150 PPE bags to the community
- Importantly, both giveaways contributed to CAS & Evergreen Health surpassing their previous high for number of Covid-19 tests conducted during a morning session. The total on Tuesday morning was 50 with many of the passing visitors to the giveaway stations heading round to the testing site once they were made aware.
Testing is how we will stay on top of the virus and slow the rate of transmission so Victory Sports is delighted to have played a small part in keeping residents in 14215 healthy! See below for original article on our partnership with CAS.
Victory Sports is launching a partnership with Community Access Services (CAS) this coming Tuesday July 14th, to give away hundreds of jump-ropes, Project Play WNY Free-Play activity cards, face masks, hand sanitizer and other health & wellness items. Both organizations will be at 3297 Bailey Ave from 10am-12pm on Tuesday 7/14 to give the items away free of charge on a drive/walk-up basis. The giveaway is part of 100-days of Covid-19 testing taking place on-site.
The CAS and Evergreen Health site is in the heart of the 14215 ZIP code, one which has been particularly hard hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. Although the area and WNY as a whole has done very well at controlling the spread (reopening of the region and the restart of youth sports is testament to that), we have seen in other states that this virus has the capacity to rear its head again. Covid-19 testing is the best way to stay on top of the virus and control the spread.
Following our successful partnership with FeedMore WNY, Victory Sports is continuing to combine sport and physical activity with general health, wellness and food security by partnering with organizations such as CAS to distribute items into communities in need. #ProjectJumpRope was launched in May to provide 2000+ jump ropes to kids in greater Buffalo to try and keep them active and entertained during the lock down. Head to this article to learn more about how the project is going!
We’d like to thank the Ralph C. Wilson Jr, Foundation for their continued support of the work we do here at Victory Sports. You can always donate via the button below or this link. Every $20 helps us distribute 10 jump-ropes to kids in the community. Thanks for your support!
