Victory Sports holds first #ProjectJumpRope giveaway event
On Saturday May 9th, Victory Sports visited two Buffalo area Price Rite Marketplace stores in our #ProjectJumpRope effort to give away jump ropes to children. During our time that morning outside of the Elmwood Avenue location and Cheektowaga in the afternoon, we were able to give away 200 jump ropes in under 4 hours!
In addition to jump ropes, Victory Sports also gave away Project Play WNY activity cards containing fun games for kids to play at-home. A big thank you goes out to Project Play WNY for providing the cards and their continued support of our mission, along with the Ralph C. Wilson Jr Foundation, and Price Rite for allowing us to setup outside of their stores.
WIVB Channel 4 news were on-site to speak with our founder, Doug, about the project and to capture some happy shoppers receiving a free jump rope. Check out their article here!
The positive feedback we received was great, and parents appreciated getting something to take home—helping to keep their kids entertained and active during these tough times. In fact, it was such a success we’re planning to go back soon. And to further the effort, we’re also partnering with other organizations to combine our giveaways with community events–such as those distributing food and health & wellness supplies (masks, gloves etc.). So stay tuned!
