#ProjectJumpRope
In response to the Covid-19 pandemic that has brought an end to all youth sports, Victory Sports has launched #ProjectJumpRope. Over the coming months, the objective is to give away over 2000 jump ropes to kids in Buffalo and surrounding areas.
Everyone is impacted by this crisis, but for kids in low-income and underprivileged communities, the lock down represents a loss of most opportunities to play sport or be physically active like they would at school, after-school clubs, team sports or community gatherings. Victory Sports are unable to help those kids in the usual way given no sports are taking place. Jump ropes represent an inexpensive and effective way to bring some fun and physical activity to kids in the region whilst they stay home in response to government guidelines.
Over the coming weeks and months and as long as is necessary, Victory Sports will visit local grocery stores, food banks, health & wellness sites and other community events to give away free jump ropes and Project Play WNY activity cards to kids and parents.
We are grateful for the support of the Ralph C. Wilson Jr Foundation in being able to get out there and help the community, and to Project Play WNY for their collaboration and provision of the activity cards.
Check individual event pages along with this page for updates and photos from the giveaways! If you would like to know more about getting involved as a partner or sponsor, or how we could help your community, or partner with your event to give away our equipment – please contact our Development & Marketing Director, Edmond Wood at edmond@victorysports.org
